Commercial work / Debt Collecting

Commercial work
This department, managed by Dave Samuel, Colin Cilliers and Denis Molyneaux, deals, inter alia, with the registration of companies, close corporations and trusts, and with the drafting of all kinds of contracts encountered in the commercial world, including sales of businesses, loan agreements, deeds of suretyship, shareholder's agreements, partnership agreements and all documentation relating to these corporate bodies.

Furthermore, the firms have extensive experience in township development for the previously disadvantaged communities, having acted for township developers in their dealings with provincial and local authorities concerning the acquisition of land and development of new townships thereon, the drafting of the relevant agreements, and the marketing and registration of transfer of the erven to individual purchasers. Community based trusts for township development, “educare”, resource centres and similar community activities have been facilitated and established. These projects have required extensive interaction with communities and various stakeholders in both the small and larger towns and cities of the Free State.

In Maseru the firms are extensively involved with the privatisation of Lesotho government departments and para-statal organisations.

Debt Collecting
This department, managed by Lebohang Molete and Motlatsi Mpobole in Maseru and Retief Koekemoer in Bloemfontein, handles debt collections for companies and individuals as well as institutions and the Bloemfontein Local Transitional Council. The firms have experience in major debt collecting including actions for recoveries for insurance companies and against defaulters on bonds and loans from financial institutions.
